SUN IN AQUARIUS

Ruler of Aquarius:                                Uranus
FIXED SIGN:                                           Eccentric, determined, stubborn
ELEMENT AIR:                                      Ideas
GLYPH:                                                    The Water Bearer -who symbolizes brotherhood and fraternity: pours out life force and spirituality
Approx. Dates: Jan 20th to Feb 18th. Exact dates vary because of leap years, time zones and other factors

AQUARIUS CHARACTERISTICS:

N.B. If you have a planet aspected by Uranus in your chart, you may well be quite Uranian: Humanitarian, Independent, Original. Aquarius is about ideas, science and knowledge: this is a gift or a curse!

MYTHOLOGICAL LINKS:

Prometheus: Aquarius relates to Prometheus who stole fire from heaven to give it to humanity (and was punished by Zeus for so-doing) Redeems humanity from darkness.

Ganymede: The myth of Ganymede is also relevant: Ganymede was a beautiful boy who was Zeus cup-bearer, with whom Zeus became infatuated, thus rejecting Hera his wife, implicitly rejecting the feminine in us, the instinctual, the emotional. Unfaithful.

Uranus:
The third relevant myth is that of Uranus, Aquarius’ ruler: Uranus was dissatisfied by his children – he felt offended and repelled by them – and so he imprisoned them: Aquarius has problems accepting the physical; and can reject offspring and other creations because of inevitable – real or imagined – imperfections.

AQUARIUS FOIBLES

Aquarius’ foibles are very wide-ranging: Theory, but no heart, Stubborn fanaticism, Totalitarian idealism, Intellectual bigotry, Loves humanity – but not people! Defends the underdog, Brusque and unfeeling, Cool, Insensitive, Rigid, dogmatic, Stupid in dealing with feelings, Horror at being selfish can lead to a life messed up! Aggression gets submerged by guilt, The Sun is in detriment in Aquarius, therefore lacks self-confidence – and individual self-expression is hampered, a fear of self-fulfilment, Loads of ‘shoulds’ and ‘oughts’, Feels guilt at having more than others, as if he or she is not entitled to it and may deserve punishment (echoes of the Prometheus myth)

AQUARIUS MIND

Aquarius is the champion of Light and the Spirit, has a gift for logic, intellectual analysis, reasonableness, rationality (even brilliance), has got all the answers; defines both the problem and the solution instantly – often maddeningly so! But has no room for emotion or chance. Aquarius is guided and motivated by strong ideas, Good at dealing with facts, Retentive memory, Fertile imagination, Quick-thinking mind, Can over-flow with ideas, but being mental can fail to see projects through and have problems with application.

AQUARIUS EMOTIONS

Conflict between introversion and extroversion needs, Aquarius is frightened of feelings, embarrassed by romance, Aquarius has implicit Hope – and Faith in human potential, Displays an ambivalent perfectionism to people,

AQUARIUS PRACTICAL AND CAREER ISSUES

Aquarius can be impractical with possessions and may need to learn to deal effectively with money. Aquarius does his or her best within humanitarian settings.

AQUARIUS RELATIONSHIPS

Aquarius fear of feelings can devastate relationships with a partner, or with children, or with friends. He or she can’t understand the need for sentimental displays of affection. Aquarius can be embarrassed by emotion; won’t show tears. Don’t go to an Aquarius for sympathy! Aquarius mind can be detached from emotions. Aquarius will speak for justice, progress, liberation – but Aquarius actions may be otherwise (Hypocritical – but thinks he/she’s sincere). Shows integrity. Has a dispassionate interest in and sympathy for humanity – but almost as an intellectual response rather than ‘from the heart’. Aquarius’ ideals clash with human nature – therefore may need anchoring. Gets annoyed with people who don’t understand ( = agree!). Argumentative and forceful, therefore can alienate people and provoke. Aquarius is friendly and sociable and has a large circle of friends. Loyal to friends – unless they discard them on intellectual grounds. Strong group instincts. May have a perpetual over-concern for the power of, or for the view-point of the group. Gains enjoyment from meeting new people, exchanging ideas and relating on a mental level. Has distinct likes and dislikes. Aquarius thinks he or she likes to be an equal among equals. Aquarius is ferociously civilizing. Gets irritated if others infringe on his/her intellectual freedom.

AQUARIUS AS A LOVER

Said not to fall in love easily. Must have an intellectually compatible partner must retain independence. Danger of self-loss through guilt. There can be too much self-sacrifice. Said to be loyal to the idea of marriage. Has a lot of self-discipline in a relationship. NOT particularly sensuous, as compared to Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces. Friendship can be more important than love.

THE SHADOW AQUARIUS

Dedicated to upholding control. Reforming everyone. Pushing the ideological hobby-horse. Hypocrisy. Pushing the ideal, yet not loving the person – disregarding the person’s integrity. OUT OF TOUCH WITH THEIR EMOTIONS.  Frightened to acknowledge:
Anger, Resentment, Jealousy, Longing, Need, Helplessness, Fear.

AQUARIUS WOMAN

An inspiring companion and friend in her own right, Can have great difficulty in expressing feelings, e.g: Stiffness, Rigidity, Pride,
In personal relationships, she can appear: Cool, Remote, Aloof, Sometimes, emotions stay unconscious, Can be embarrassed by her own femaleness, Aquarius has a reputation for bisexuality and for a need for additional purely sexual affairs outside marriage/partnership.
Aquarius Has: Strength, Independence, Original thought, Self-sacrifice. She either turns her self-discipline into the personal sphere, Or she turns her muscle on the world in some way. She needs to become involved with a cause. Home and family are insufficient to exercise her intellectual abilities and interests – “don’t tie me down!” Can tend to exaggerate her own problems.

AQUARIUS MAN

Has an intellectual bias: Thinker, Dreamer, Philosopher, Scientist, Aggravated problem of confronting his own emotions: Cool, Proud, Hides hurt or breakdown. He is more sensitive than he knows. He masks terribly vulnerable emotions. Can’t discuss personal feelings, Doesn’t adjust well to people. His partner needs detachment and his/her own source of creative life. And his partner mustn’t expect emotional honesty of him! He can believe in ‘open relationships’. He is rather child-like.

Need to be careful as we approach the eclipse of 15th June 2011

The eclipse of 15th June 2011 is a tense cliff-hanger. It’s surrounded by complex reasons to be careful. But maybe you could seize opportunity? Watch the trends that are developing now in your life. How will they seem by June? What do you wish for? what do you want to avoid? On the world scale, terrorism and overthrow of fixed structures and cults arising.

If we use this new energy coming in up to June positively, we could experience great positive growth and transformation. In particular spiritual knots could loosen at this time and liberate us to fuller spiritual expression of ourselves.

But if we experience the energy of this time negatively, we could experience driven obsessions and also need to watch out for people who will unsettle our lives. We could dangerously embark in a driven way on a wrong spiritual path.

So, I feel there is a need to approach June 2011 with care, but also be strong and open to gain.

Astrologically, it’s not just that there’s a lunar eclipse in June (and the effects of a lunar eclipse are felt immediately). It’s also, secondly, because the Nodes of the Moon move out of Vedic (sidereal) Sagittarius, into Vedic (sidereal) Scorpio on June 6th and they stay in sidereal Scorpio for eighteen months (until 23.12.12).

[N.B. Rahu, the North Node of the Moon was last in Vedic/sidereal Scorpio from 30.10.92 to 19.5.1994. What happened to you then?]

And, thirdly, it’s also because transiting Saturn is stationary in the heavens during the middle of the month, and when a planet is on station its effects are felt much more.

The astrology alerts therefore both to dangers and possibilities, raised by the eclipse and by the change of sign for the Nodes and the fact that Saturn is on station.

This new set of energies applies to varying degrees for everyone.

But this alert especially applies for those people who have planets on the boundary which the Nodes will cross between sidereal Sagittarius and Scorpio (that’s around 24 degrees in the western sign of Sagittarius).

&/or

It especially applies for those with planets that will be conjuncted by Saturn – that’s around 16 degrees Vedic/sidereal Virgo (that’s around 10 deg western Libra). Of course, people with Moon in this area in their natal charts will be in the centre or ‘pit’ of Sade Sate: the often very difficult seven and a half year period in the centre of which transiting Saturn conjuncts your natal Moon. If your Venus is in this area you will experience saturn conjunct Venus, with very big issues in love.

So, what are these new energies that are coming in?

Rahu, the North Node of the Moon is in Scorpio from June 6th – and just before it enters Scorpio it passes through the ‘Gandanta degrees’ just either side of the sign boundary – if you have any planet there, you need to realise that planet’s benefits are weakened in your life in that its benefits are less open to being enjoyed by you.

What is the energy of Rahu in Scorpio? Rahu in Scorpio is hungry, ambitious and driven. And you can become the victim of Fears – irrational or real! It’s intense, passionate, transformative and obsessional. Rahu will search out secrets. Be very careful that exciting new possibilities don’t become juggernauts or complicated driven and dangerous. Maintain meditation. Maintain awareness. Maintain ethics. Take care not to hurt others. Live within spiritual protection. Remember that your desires or impulses can cause great harm if you rush away with them. You could create really bad karma for yourself with consequences you can not evade. It’s really important to work with the chakras when these energies are around you.

The energy of Ketu in Taurus: Ketu, the South Node of the Moon is in Vedic/sidereal Taurus for eighteen months from June 6th. Ketu dissolves things with an energy like knives. Try to make sure Ketu only dissolves that which needs to be dissolved in your life for your spiritual growth towards Moksha or salvation. Ketu off-loads our past-lives karmas. It breaks old set patterns leaving us vulnerable and exposed and even destitute. It cuts away at the roots and makes us insecure. Ketu is orientated towards letting go, so beware melt-down or being left with nothing. Beware: with Ketu transiting through the materialistic sign of Taurus, all sorts of questions will arise in our minds around the value of our material things. Or you may experience excess: lots of material comforts or wealth and go big time into property and balance sheet so that you may be forced eventually to realise the extent to which the material is unreal and you may need to put it into balance wit other things.

Danger of spiritual aberrations in this 18-month period: Coupled with the ambition of Rahu, you may go onto some spiritual path that is driven and obsessional and excited. You may desire fast-track spiritual fulfillment, but you may find yourself landed with delusion, error, disenchantment or despair. Those you love could be left as ‘road kill’ behind your enthusiastic passage ‘forward’.

Beware cults and cult like organisations particularly. Find ways to develop physical and meditative calm and solidity. Beware the dark obsessional flip-side of religions.

The Couples Workshop ‘Journey to the Loving Heart of Your Relationship’ is on Saturday 12th February at the Happiness Centre, Ilkley. Get outside insight, care, skill and support.  Receive and learn fast depth-acting healing techniques.

Here is what one attender shared about the last Starwheel Workshop:
‘I would like to say that the workshop was really well run and useful to me in my life at the moment. I also liked working with other people because I had to trust them as the workshop encouraged me to open up. The first part of the workshop concentrated on analysing my astrological chart. I found that this pinpointed accurately where I am in my life at the moment, even expressing certain feelings that I could not. The afternoon session focussed on learning some healing techniques. This was handled with great skill and compassion and I felt that it was safe for me to express feelings that I usually hide. I came away with some healing techniques that will be useful for me. The result of attending the workshop has meant that I feel better about myself and that I have been living in the present, rather than weighed down by internal doubts and fears.’

The Emotion Code is simple and profound. It cuts through any assumptions that either you or I might make because it speaks directly and accurately to the body through muscle testing.

It is based on the idea that underlying many of our physical or emotional discomforts there are trapped emotions.

A trapped emotion is caused by something happening to you that was too much for you to handle at the time and has somehow become frozen in your body. You might not even remember the actual event but it will colour your outlook and reactions to life so that you are less of who you might be.

If you have been hurt, rejected or disappointed you might develop a Heart Wall which then restricts your ability to give and receive love. I’ve cleared a Heart Wall to find the person I’ve worked on calling me up a short time afterwards to say they’ve met somebody wonderful.

So how is it done? We take an issue that’s affecting your life – it could be a bad back, upset stomach or lack of confidence, procrastination, making yourself invisible… you name it, and then we begin to ask the body through muscle testing if there are underlying trapped emotions contributing to the problem.

If the answer is positive we quickly pinpoint the emotion and the time in your life that it was trapped. There is no going into the ‘story’ of it or having to re-experience a difficult event, just a simple acknowledgement – then the release is quickly achieved by rolling a magnet down your back with the intention of letting the trapped energy go and with the clear voiced affirmation that the named emotion is at last released! The trapped emotions can even be hereditary. I demonstrate this healing technique in love and relationships and life-stage workshops.

It’s awesomely simple, moving and effective and very compassionate. People may feel freed and with a new surge of energy and clarity as if all the energy tied up in that trapped emotion is released and available again.

‘I’ve come home to me.’ ’I felt a fog lifting.’ ‘I feel strong and clear.’ These are just some of the many comments I’ve had from Emotion Code clients and why I love working with it.

The Emotion Code healing approach was developed by chiropractor Dr Bradley Nelson. It is one of the fast depth-healing approaches I will be demonstrating at the forthcomming two Starwheel Love and Relationship Workshops at the Ilkley Happiness Centre:

If you have a weak Sun, you need to strengthen yourself through insight into the reality of the situation – and by healing.

If you have a weak Sun, it could feel like the world’s happening to you and you could feel a ‘victim of circumstances’. You won’t see the choices that are available to you: simple choices like: ‘do I say yes or do I say no?’ You could tend to blame other people for your life because you might not be in touch with your power. You might not realise you’ve got it. Or, you might be afraid of your power. You could perceive other people as more threatening than they actually are. By the way, the methods the strength of your Sun are calculated are mentioned below.

Why does it matter if your Sun is weak? Well, your Sun is your Divine Centre, your conscious Mind.

In Vedic Astrology, the Sun is represented as the charioteer holding the reins of the other horses = the other planets. Think about it. With a weak charioteer, the chariot is in all sorts of difficulties. A strong horse will pull the chariot all over the place. The charioteer isn’t in charge. A direction can’t be taken. The chariot could be overturned or dragged along the wrong road.

If you have a weak Sun, you have a real challenge to meet in life. You might always feel unvalued – not noticed enough from birth. You won’t get respect.

Sun is one of the two indicators for Father in a Vedic horoscope. Weak Sun means that your father gave you such a weak role model you don’t know how to love or parent your child. Also, if you are a man, you’ll have difficulty knowing how to be a man, and how to be positivley assertive, or how to embrace your male sexuality. Vedic astrology has a reliable way of scoring the strength of each of your planets, see below.

Let’s look at some examples of the havoc caused by weak Sun:

Parent and Child

If you, as a weak Sun parent, have a strong or aggressive child, you may spend years lovingly colluding with and giving in to your child’s bad behaviour, only for your child to walk out on you.

For example: you have Sun scored at -6 in Libra, whereas your child has endlessly smoulderingly aggressive Mars conjunct Rahu (Mars conjunct North Node, where the Vedic remedy is for the child to do sport: karate kicks – not kick you!!). And, maybe, also, your ‘rule the roost child’ also has a very strong ‘royal’ Sun in the lunar sign of Magha (part of western Virgo).

Loving Relationships

And your weak Sun can play real havoc in your loving relationships. Let’s take three examples of this:

Weak Sun, strong Mars: Say you have a very strong Mars but a very weak Sun. Well: your aggressive Mars could take over and destroy harmony in the home and wound your partner. You could dominate. In Vedic astrology, this is called Kuja Dosa or ‘assertive force imbalance’. It leads to repeated relationship breakdown until the problem is understood and there is astrological advice on which partner it might be appropriate to choose.

You could swing confusingly between being the ‘agree to anything doormat’ and the avenging angel of death. Whenever a Mars transit comes along you could go confusingly into ‘rev’.

For example: your Sun is scored at -6 and your Mars is scored at +9!

Weak Sun, strong Moon: Let’s look at another relationship example: In Vedic astrology it is the Moons of the two partners that are compared to evaluate the relationship. Say one partner has a weak Sun but a very strong Moon, then his or her demands for emotional tribute or ‘in your face emotional assertion’ could run unchecked.

For example: your partner’s Sun is in gentle Revati at the end of Pisces, but his Moon is in the male tiger sign of Vishakha (partly western Scorpio).

Weak Sun, weak Moon: Say one partner has a weak Moon, like Pisces, as well as a weak Sun, like Libra: then he or she will endlessly give into the other partner and say ‘whatever you like dear’ all the time. A situation of disrespect can set in, where one person makes all the decisions and emotionally abuses the love the weaker partner offers. You could create a no-win situation by not asserting your needs and then fall into a martyr ‘thing’ or explode with final frustration.

For example of such a ‘weak partner’: Sun in Libra, Moon in Pisces.

Life Course

Weak Sun, strong Saturn: you could endlessly create situations that imprison you, and leave your other qualities lost and un-expressed.

What do you need to do?

If you have a weak Sun, you do need to develop insight about what’s going on or your life will stay in a repetitive mess. You can heal. You can come to strength.

Maggie Pashley and Michael Conneely are holding two ‘love and relationship’ workshops which uniquely combine insight and demonstration of fast depth-healing techniques; benefit from the support of the group. These are:

Open Your Heart to Love – Love Astrology for Singles or Solo attenders on Saturday January 29th 2011, 10.00am to 5pm

Journey to the Loving Heart of Your Relationship – Love Astrology for Couples on Saturday February 12th 2011, 10.00am to 5pm

Thirdly, Charlotte Willoughby and Michael Conneely are offering a Come Into Your Power Workshop on Sunday 15th May 2011, 10.00 am to 4.30 pm, which combines insight with empowering role-play and magical vision creation; benefit from the support of the group. It is a psychosynthesis workshop.

These and the other ‘Starwheel Worskshops’ are held at the Happiness Centre, in the charming Spa Town of Ilkley which is near Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and Haworth, home of the Bronte novelists.

These workshops are unique in combining astrological insight plus demonstration of healing methods. You do not need to know any astrology to take part.

Michael also offers very skilled birth chart reports, predictions and relationships reports, which combine the sure and declarative ancient Vedic astrology of love and relationship with psychodynamic modern western astrology. Or you may need an ‘Understand Your Child Report’.

Book a workshop place or make an appointment. For the full list of workshops and to book see:  www.starwheel.co.uk, email Michael@starwheel.co.uk, tel: 077-992-96821.

A few Further Foot Notes about ‘Weak Sun’:

1. Love Astrology: in Vedic Astrology, it is on a comparison of the Lunar Signs (called Nakshatras) in which the Moons of a couple fall, that the ancient and sure Vedic Astrology of Love is based. If the Sun is weak, the Moon will not be directed. Divine over-view and consciousness will not be used.

2. Karmic Challenges: Many people believe that these examples of weak (but otherwise wonderful) people giving birth to aggressively strong children are ‘karmic’. There is a challenge to rise to for both the parent and the child. The same is felt to be true of relationships. Often we have to work out our karmic scripts in relationship.

3. Don’t feel affinity with your Sun Sign? You might always feel some aspects of your Sun Sign don’t apply, if you have a weak Sun.

4. Need to rise above turmoil and downfall? Weak Sun in the 8th House: the 8th House is, if you are at the level of manifesting it negatively, negatively about Sun must be spiritual. Well obviously if your Sun is rated very weak and in the malefic 8th House in Vedic Astrology. See the graph, below.

Example: Sun in Capricorn in the 8th House is rated -4. Mars, your strongest planet is rated with the max poss. 9 points. Negatively, the 8th House is MRITYU, the
House of Death
N.B. we can work with the 8th house energy in two ways: + astrology, healing, yoga, psychology etc, or obstacles, scandal etc.

The affairs of the 8th House include: chronic ailments, hidden things, scandalous behavior, embarrassment, shyness, accusations, desire for knowledge of the unknown or mystical matters, extravagance, unearned wealth (lotteries, legacies, etc.), worry, sexual energy, vertigo or fall from high places, cheating, homicide, useless ventures, money loss, danger from poisons, house purchased from sale of ancestral home, manner of death, being overlooked, obstacles, unsuccessful attempts, dreams, Kundalini (a kind of energy), wealth of the partner, reproduction and elimination, Psychic Experiences. The point is a spiritual solution must be developed to use these energies positively.
Vedic astrology would say that the solution to this weak 8th House Sun must be spiritual.

5. How does an astrologer measure the strength of planets?

The accurate measure of a planet’s strength is made using the sidereal zodiac of Vedic astrology (not the tropical zodiac of western astrology). The strength can be reliably calculated only using Vedic astrology. Here is a graph to illustrate the weak 8th House Sun example mentioned above. Note the strong Mars. The weak Sun will need insight and healing if it is to understand and direct the Mars energies.

6. Blogs on Strength of Planets: I will be shortly be doing a couple of other blogs shortly that will go more into the technicalities.

One will cover the two different zodiacs: Vedic and Western, and the fact that they measure different things.

The other will cover systems for measuring the strength of planets used in western astrology.

There will be an Eclipse of the Sun on 4th January 2011. The Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. This up-coming 4th January Eclipse of the Sun will be at 9.02 am with a UK magnitude of 0.75. In the zodiac of western astrology the Eclipse will be at 13 deg Capricorn (in the Vedic zodiac this is 18 deg Sagittarius).

This follows the recent Eclipse of the Moon that was on the day of the Solstice: 21st December 2010, when the Earth passed between the Sun and the Moon. This eclipse was special because fierce signs were involved and it was very closely connected to the Sun’s position when it changes direction at the Galactic centre that marks the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012.  See my Blog: http://starwheel.wordpress.com/2010/12/20/lunar-eclipse-on-the-day-of-the-winter-solstice-21st-december-2010-difficult-energies-have-now-been-gathering/

How do these two eclipses affect us?

The December eclipse: Well, during the Eclipse of the Moon that occurred on the day of the Solstice, some signs did a lot better than others. For example Venus was strong at that time so if you have an emphasis in Venus-ruled signs in your birth chart, you would have been protected, unless, of course, you had a planet in your birth chart which was conjunct or ‘cut off’ by the Moon or the Sun at the time of the eclipse – in which case the affairs of that planet might have been devastated.

The January eclipse: Similarly, if you have planets around or opposite the January 4th eclipse of the Sun you could be in for challenge.

Put simply, the more important rules are as follows:

FIRST: Does your birth chart have planets in signs of the zodiac affected by the eclipse?

SECOND: What are the affairs of your affected planet: for example if the planet signifies children, you could lose contact with a child. One of Jupiter’s significations is 5th House children and creativity. The Sun signifies the Father; the Moon signifies the Mother. There is a long list in Vedic astrology.

THIRD: It depends on what type of Sign the eclipse occurs in. If a solar eclipse falls in Fixed signs it effects are felt over years in human lives; if it falls in Cardinal signs the effects are over more quickly, and if it occurs in Mutable signs, the effects are felt immediately and continue on and off for some months. Both the December and the January eclipses are in mutable signs (using the Vedic zodiac), SO the effects are felt immediately and continue on and off for some months.

FOURTH: The longer the eclipse darkness lasts, the longer the effect of the eclipse will be felt in human lives.

FIFTH: if the eclipse falls in Fixed or Cardinal signs, its effect may wait for a planet to transit the eclipse point several months later for the effect to be felt in the human life.

SIXTH: if the eclipse falls conjunct (or opposition) your Sun, Moon, North or South Node (Rahu or Ketu), Saturn or Mars, its effects will be malefic. If it falls conjunct your Jupiter or Venus the effects can be favourable (it depends on the status of Venus or Jupiter in your chart).

SEVENTH: If the eclipse is associated with the North node Rahu (like the one on January 4th) its effects will be more malefic than if it is associate with the south Node (Ketu).

EIGHTH: If the eclipse falls on your Ascendant, you are in for trouble.

NINTH: there are rules governing the effects of an eclipse depending on which House in your birth chart the eclipse falls.

Of course, all these challenging and sad affairs have a deeper spiritual meaning for us. Vedic astrology is a tantric spirituality: adverse circumstances, indeed all circumstances, are inherently connective to the Divine. If we can only understand them rightly, they call us to become who we were born to be.

‘I was doing a healing session with a woman who had problems voicing her needs in her relationship.

It had really helped her to have it clearly and precisely revealed from a Vedic Astrology Relationship Compatibility Evaluation, that her husband had more ‘assertive pressure’ than she did – and that it would be useful for both of them to be aware of that.

Of course, you can say she already knew this, but because she wasn’t naturally the more confident one in the relationship, she could doubt that.

It was also really useful for her to have something she could take back to her husband to make him aware that sometimes he would come over too powerfully, and that could be detrimental to the harmony in the relationship.

People who want to nurture their relationship can find it reassuring that making a few simple adjustments will improve their lives. They can find this clarity and sureness of declaration very  useful.

We tend to think we are simply the way we are and act from that place, even if it’s counterproductive.

Also, I think the Vedic Astrology Ashta Kuta system is very good at clearly and simply both highlighting the strengths within a relationship and pin-pointing ways of building on those strengths.

Any one of the Vedic compatibility pointers can really help shed light on how to improve a relationship.’

– a reaction by Maggie Pashley to use of Vedic Love Astrology in healing

‘Assertive Pressure’ is where one of the people in a relationship is a lot more assertive than the other. Perhaps they are argumentative or keep ‘blowing up the home’ or even bullying.

Assertive Pressure is called ‘Kuja Dosha’ in Sanskrit. It’s Mars problems and is one of the factors used in Vedic Love Astrology – the ancient, powerful and sure evaluation of a relationship:

Mars is a malefic. Its energy is good for getting things done but can be abrasive, harmful or destructive in relationship issues. This evaluation facet warns if one partner is far more assertive than the other (this is a major thing that went wrong in the relationship of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes – see separate up-coming Blog on Sylvia, Ted and their relationship). If Kuja Dosha applies, it will damage the houses of marriage, family life, the home environment, the marital tie and/or sexual pleasure.
